Wrights operates two public services:- Nenthead to Alston and Alston to Hexham.
Our summer service from Newcastle to Keswick is always popular with visitors to the Lake District and the North Pennines. The journey has some of the best scenery in the country. So, leave the car and home and enjoy!

From schoolchildren to rock stars and everyone in between. In Wright's 100 year plus history our drivers have transported countless passengers from all walks of life to all kinds of destinations.
A lifeline to many, we offer regular buses between Nenthead and Hexham and during the summer months we operate the popular route of Newcastle to Keswick with lots of stops along the way. We also transport many children to school and are trusted, long-standing contractors with several local authorities and education departments.
What may come as a surprise is that Wrights has for many years operated a sleeper coach service for the music industry. Co-owner Gary Wright has driven stars such as Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Deacon Blue, Bon Jovi and many others on tours around Europe and parts of Asia
Over the years, Wrights has been featured in all of the major trade magazines, including Bus and Coach Buyer and local press such as Cumbria Life and Cumbria magazine.

With a trusted and reliable history stretching back over 100 years. Wrights has a small but varied fleet of vehicles, ranging from a 33 seater minibus to a 57 seater recliner coach. We can even offer two vintage buses for your special trip or occasion such as a wedding.
We, as the owners, brothers Gary and Ian Wright are proud to continue in the family business. Our drivers are highly experienced, friendly and ensure that your journey runs as smoothly as possible. Mandy in our office has been with us for 21 years and will deal with your booking and can confidently answer almost any question you may have about travelling with Wrights.
We have two depots. Nenthead, high in the Cumbrian fells is where the family business started during WWI and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This means we can cover a vast area of Northern England. If your destination is further afield, just ask and we'll go that extra mile to help.
